Sensei Ugi, a Tabaxi monk, was born in Jakunta, a sprawling city that served as the heart of the World Government’s power. At 14, Ugi was chosen to be a scribe for the noble lords, tasked with recording their laws, treaties, and secret dealings. Over the next 70 years, Ugi witnessed the corruption at the heart of the government—the suffering of the common folk, the manipulation of power, and the greed that fueled it all.
Despite his position, Ugi’s moral compass never wavered. He secretly began feeding information to the rising rebellion, using his access to government documents to aid their cause. His actions were dangerous, but he believed it was the only honorable choice.
Outside his government duties, Ugi was the respected head sensei of Jakunta’s Temple of the Whispering Paw, where he taught martial arts to all, noble and commoner alike. His philosophy blended discipline, balance, and inner peace.
At 84, Ugi retired from his scribe duties, but his knowledge of the government’s inner workings remained valuable. Seeking a new purpose, Ugi now looks to the adventurers around him, hoping to aid the fight for justice and to restore balance in a world long consumed by corruption.
